Sea Tragedy: Losses of the Ukrainian Navy

Following an attack by Russian forces on a Ukrainian Navy ship, two crew members have lost their lives, and several others are reported missing, stated the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
This information was shared during a news marathon on the morning of August 29.
"Unfortunately, we have confirmation of a second fatality. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. We will definitely find all the missing; their number is not just one. Additionally, several servicemen were injured, but the majority of the crew has been safe since yesterday," said the spokesman.
The host noted that some enemy media reported that the ship had sunk, but Pletenchuk emphasized that he currently "cannot confirm this information".
Background:
- On August 28, it became known that Russian occupation forces struck one of the ships of the Ukrainian Navy. One crew member was killed, and several were injured.
- Russian media claimed that it was supposedly the reconnaissance ship of the Ukrainian Navy "Simferopol".
