Successful Defense: 88 Drones Neutralized
The Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully neutralized 88 out of 140 Russian drones that attacked the country's territory.
This was reported by the Air Forces of Ukraine via social media.
According to the information, from 9:00 PM on Sunday, August 17, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine with four "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles from areas including Taganrog, Millerovo, Kursk, as well as 140 strike drones of the Shahed type and other imitation drones from directions including Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea). The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups. As of 9:00 AM on Monday, August 18, the air defense had shot down 88 enemy Shahed-type drones and imitation drones in the north, south, east, and center of Ukraine. Strikes from missiles and drones were recorded at 25 locations in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kyiv regions.
