Attack on Odesa Port: Civilian Impact

03 July 2025

Today, a tragic missile attack occurred in Odesa, resulting in civilian casualties.

This was reported by Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, on his Telegram channel.

This afternoon, an «Iskander» missile hit a dock at the Odesa Sea Port, where workers were unloading cargo from a foreign vessel.

Two people lost their lives: a dock worker and a truck driver. Our heartfelt condolences go out to their families.

Six others were injured, including port workers and two crew members from a Syrian vessel. All injured individuals are receiving necessary medical assistance.

Infrastructure sustained damage as well, including cranes, machinery, and warehouses.

This attack clearly demonstrates that Russia continues to target our ports, inflicting harm on the infrastructure that connects Ukraine to the world. This is an attack on civilians who work daily in critical sectors.

Safe and free navigation must be the norm, not the exception. A strong international response is needed to these attacks on civilian infrastructure!
