Heroic Sacrifice in the Sky: The Story of a Ukrainian Pilot

On the night of June 29, 2025, Russian forces launched another wave of missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, resulting in the death of Colonel Maksym Ustimenko, a first-class pilot.

This was reported by the Air Forces.

Quote: "Unfortunately, we have suffered another painful loss. Last night, while repelling a massive air assault, Colonel Ustimenko, born in 1993, was killed in action on an F-16. He managed to shoot down seven enemy aircraft using the full range of armaments available."

During the execution of his last mission, his plane sustained damage and began losing altitude. Maksym Ustimenko took all necessary measures to steer the aircraft away from populated areas but did not have time to eject.

Additional information: According to military sources, the Russian side launched over 500 aerial targets during the night.

The F-16s, in particular, destroyed dozens of Shahed drones.
