Attack on Odesa: Latest Updates
In the early hours of Sunday, June 8, 2025, Russian occupation forces launched an attack on the Odesa region using an anti-ship missile «Onyx» and two Kh-59 guided missiles targeting Mykolaiv.
This was confirmed by the Air Command «South».
At the start of the second hour of the night, an air alert signal was heard in Odesa and the surrounding areas. Monitoring Telegram channels reported that an enemy Su aircraft fired a missile, likely towards Chabanivka, where two explosions were heard shortly after.
Later reports indicated that Russians launched two more missiles towards Pivdenne and Chabanivka, but these targets soon disappeared from radar, and after the alert was lifted at 1:33, no further alerts were issued in the region.
The «South» command also reported that that night the southern Ukrainian air defense shot down 13 enemy strike drones of the Shahed type and other UAVs.
