Odessa Port Attack: Latest Updates

23 May 2025

Today, Odessa was struck by two ballistic missiles targeting its port infrastructure.

This was reported by the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Oleg Kiper.

As a result of today's Russian attack, one port worker was killed.

Eight others were injured, including four in serious condition, two moderately injured, and two with minor injuries. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance.

I urge residents and visitors of Odessa to respond to air raid signals and, when announced, to promptly seek shelter! – emphasized Oleg Kiper.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Community and Territorial Development Olexiy Kuleba, the attack damaged the engine room, shattered windows and doors in administrative buildings, and destroyed vehicles and equipment.

This was an ordinary working day at a regular Ukrainian port. People were working, and machinery was handling containers. There were no military targets — only civilian infrastructure. Russia has again struck a peaceful, strategically vital facility that is important for global food security, – noted Kuleba.
