Emerging Champions: U-17 Wrestling Championship in Khmelnytskyi

From April 4 to 6, Khmelnytskyi hosted the U-17 Wrestling Championship of Ukraine in Greco-Roman style.

This competition acted as a qualifier for the European Championship scheduled for June in Italy.

The gold medal and a spot at the European Championship were claimed by Herman Basarab (48 kg) — a member of the Odesa Wrestling Federation, athlete of the Greek Wrestling Club, and sports schools 'Olympian' and 'Dynamo'.

Another athlete from Odesa, Danilo Dragulyan in the 65 kg weight category, lost a tight final to a competitor from Kharkiv, earning a silver medal and a place on the national team.

Both athletes were trained by experienced coaches — Viktor Synyavskyi and Oleksandr Hraban.
