WTA Rankings Revamped: Ukrainian Tennis Players Shine

On Monday, June 9, the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) released its updated rankings.

Ukraine's top player Elina Svitolina climbed to the 13th position after reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garros. Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the tournament finalist, continues to lead the rankings, while American Coco Gauff, the tournament champion, holds the second spot.

Chinese player Zheng Qinwen moved up to her highest-ever fifth position from seventh, while Poland's Iga Swiatek fell in the rankings after failing to defend her title in the French capital.

In the bottom half of the top ten, Spain’s Paula Badosa and American Emma Navarro switched places.

French semifinalist Lois Boisson made a sensational rise from 361st to 65th place.

Ukraine's second player Marta Kostyuk dropped one spot to 26th after her early exit in the first round of the French Open.

Dayana Yastremska moved up three spots to occupy 45th place.

Julia Starodubtseva made significant progress, rising 14 places to 67th thanks to her debut appearance in the third round of a major.

Angelina Kalinina returned to the top 100, now ranked 96th, while Darya Snigur remained at 151st.

Alexandra Oliynykova achieved her career-high ranking of 202nd, and Anastasia Soboleva improved her position to 244th after qualifying for Roland Garros.
