Diana Yastremska Advances at Roland Garros

Odessa's Diana Yastremska has reached the third round of the «Roland Garros» - the French Open for the second time in her career, currently taking place in Paris.

Diana started her campaign against Australian player Destanee Aiava, who received a wild card. The first set was competitive, but Diana ultimately triumphed with a score of 7:5, 6:1.

Her best performance at the French Open was reaching the third round, which she achieved last year.

In the 1/32 finals, the Odessa tennis player defeated the 12th seed in the world, Russian Diana Schneider, with a score of 7:5, 7:5. Yastremska managed to clinch victory in two sets, with the match lasting 1 hour and 51 minutes. This was their second encounter, and Diana avenged her previous loss.

In the next round, she will face another Russian player, Lyudmila Samsonova.

"Roland Garros" is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, held in Paris at the «Roland Garros» tennis complex. The tournament traditionally takes place over two weeks at the end of May and the beginning of June, starting from 1891.
