Diana Yastremska Advances at Roland Garros
Odessa's Diana Yastremska has reached the third round of the «Roland Garros» - the French Open for the second time in her career, currently taking place in Paris.
Diana started her campaign against Australian player Destanee Aiava, who received a wild card. The first set was competitive, but Diana ultimately triumphed with a score of 7:5, 6:1.
Her best performance at the French Open was reaching the third round, which she achieved last year.
In the 1/32 finals, the Odessa tennis player defeated the 12th seed in the world, Russian Diana Schneider, with a score of 7:5, 7:5. Yastremska managed to clinch victory in two sets, with the match lasting 1 hour and 51 minutes. This was their second encounter, and Diana avenged her previous loss.
In the next round, she will face another Russian player, Lyudmila Samsonova.
