Adaptive Sports in Odessa: New Opportunities for Veterans
Odessa continues to advance in adaptive sports.
The mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, along with the Barrier-Free Council team, visited the sports club 'Arena' to assess the conditions for sports activities.
The club already offers sports rehabilitation services for veterans of the Armed Forces and is actively enhancing these in collaboration with the local government.
During the visit, special attention was paid to the accessibility of facilities for individuals with disabilities.
“The facility has great training conditions, but we noted an important detail — the lack of accessible restrooms for wheelchair users. Additionally, there are several aspects that require improvement. It’s encouraging that the club's management is open to dialogue — together we are seeking technical solutions to make the space truly barrier-free,” emphasized Hennadiy Trukhanov.
