Food Security for Schoolchildren in Odesa

In the city of Odesa, primary school students will be ensured food supply until the end of the academic year.
The deputies of the Odesa City Council voted to allocate an additional 20 million hryvnias from the city budget.
Food for students is funded by state subsidies and local budget – 70% and 30% respectively.
Currently, the subsidy funds have been exhausted, and no additional appropriations are planned at this time.
«I believe it is wrong to halt food provision in the middle of the academic year. I am pleased that most of you share the same viewpoint. The decision made will ensure food supply for this academic year regardless of the state subsidy availability,» stated Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.
