Launch of New Digital Education Centers in Odesa Region
In southern Ukraine, the Association of Innovative and Digital Education (AIDE), with the support of UNICEF, has launched 46 digital education centers, 19 of which have been established in the Odesa region.
The mission of these Digital Education Centers is to provide equal access to quality education for students who have lost the ability to learn offline due to war or other circumstances.
These centers assist students in bridging educational gaps, offering psychosocial support, and providing lessons for successful living as well as other engaging activities, utilizing modern digital tools.
Today marks another significant event! Digital Education Centers have been inaugurated in the Mayaki community based on the local lyceum and in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi at Gymnasium No. 2.
Present at the opening were the Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Anton Shalyhaiilo, the Director of the Department of Education and Science, Oleksandr Lonchak, and representatives and coordinators of educational projects from UNICEF and the Association of Innovative and Digital Education.
At DLS No. 25 (village Mayaki), guests familiarized themselves with the technical and methodological resources of the Center, discussed its future development, and attended a class with 11th graders focused on bridging math knowledge gaps using the Ecosystem for Overcoming Educational Losses with the help of Artificial Intelligence.
In DLS No. 17, coordinators introduced guests to all the services available for teachers and students regarding learning and overall development.
During the opening, students showcased their work with quizzes – tests on school subjects and general knowledge, as well as their gameplay in “Minecraft Education,” where they learn to navigate life situations and solve problems independently.
“We are placing significant emphasis on educational preparation for the youth. Recently, we have greatly improved the opportunities for students and their access to in-person education by creating safe and comfortable conditions. The establishment of such Digital Education Centers for students is part of this effort, and we are immensely grateful to our partners – UNICEF and the Association of Innovative and Digital Education,” emphasized Anton Shalyhaiilo.
