New Funding for Shelters in Schools of Odesa Region
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved funding for 60 projects aimed at establishing shelters in educational institutions, with 6 projects to be implemented in the Odesa region.
The funds are primarily directed to communities with high security risk levels, where the presence of shelters is critically important.
Initial shelters will be constructed in the schools of the Kodym, Lyman, Mayaky (2 facilities), Vygodyansk, and Kuyalnytsia communities.
Project selection was conducted through the DREAM electronic platform, which will also allow monitoring of the entire construction process and reporting.
The working group of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, led by the first deputy head Oleksandr Kharlov, supported the applications from our region.
We expect the government to approve another 50 projects agreed upon by the Ministry of Education and Science. This includes additional funding for the construction of 3 bomb shelters in the Dobroslav, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Molohiv communities, as well as adding a shelter for a school in the Vylkiv community to the funding list.
A safe educational environment is not just about comfort but also about ensuring protection for every child and teacher. We continue to work to ensure that all educational institutions in the Odesa region have reliable shelters!
