Revitalization of Odesa Lyceum No. 56: New Opportunities for Students
In Odesa, the revitalization of one of the main educational institutions of the Primorsky district — Odesa Lyceum No. 56, located at 1 Tynystya Street, is underway.
The renovation work focuses on energy efficiency and infrastructure improvements.
As of today, the following has been completed:
- site improvement: sports fields with safe rubberized surfaces have been created;
- partial replacement of metal fencing;
- a new ramp for easy access to the school from Tynystya Street;
- restoration of the sidewalk in front of the school;
- insulation of the building's roof;
- entrances equipped with ramps and finished with non-slip ceramic tiles.
Currently, work is ongoing to insulate the facades and plinth, restore paving, install canopies over entrances, and set up the drainage system.
Additionally, landscaping is actively taking place. By the end of the year, it is planned to install sports equipment, basketball hoops, and complete the fencing of the sports grounds.
This year, a mural titled «Towards the Dream» appeared on the facade of the lyceum, created as part of a joint project by the NGO «Association of Sappers of Ukraine» and the Canadian-Ukrainian Foundation.
Note
The educational institution at 1 Tynystya Street was founded in 1946. Initially, it was located in two old buildings. In 1964, a three-story block was built, and in 1983, additional premises were added.
Currently, over 1200 students study at the lyceum, and more than 100 teaching staff work there, making it one of the largest educational institutions in the Primorsky district of Odesa.
