New Educational Initiatives in Ukraine
In Ukraine, a new list of essential teaching tools and equipment for the subject "Ukraine Defense" for high school students has been approved.
This decree was adopted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
In addition to the usual classroom items, the list includes:
- FPV drone simulators with computers;
- interactive laser shooting simulators;
- radio stations for learning communication basics;
- training track elements;
- manikins for CPR and first aid training;
- tourniquets and bandages;
- tactical medicine kits;
- helmets and bulletproof vests.
"The updated equipment will enable students to learn life-saving first aid skills, prepare them for using modern technologies in security, develop critical thinking and resilience against misinformation, as well as establish practical abilities for emergency situations," the Ministry stated.
It is worth noting that in 2024, the Ministry of Education approved an updated curriculum for the subject "Ukraine Defense," which will now be taught in specialized training centers serving multiple schools.
According to Oksen Lisovyi, the educational program has removed "everything that was included based on the Soviet approach," and now girls and boys are taught together, instead of separately as before.
The ministry emphasizes that the new teaching approach addresses contemporary challenges and needs in the national security sector and aims to foster patriotic consciousness and develop practical skills.
