New Academic Year in Odesa: Memory and Learning

The educational institutions in Odesa have commenced a new academic year. This year, it started on September 2, coinciding with the city's celebration.

The primary goal of a modern teacher is to create a supportive environment, be present for the students, help them during challenging times, provide a sense of security and confidence, and lay the groundwork for quality education.

The first lesson titled «Vincit qui meminit (He who remembers conquers)» was dedicated to honoring the memory of the defenders of Ukraine who lost their lives fighting for our independence.

“May the nights be peaceful and the dawns be joyful… may everyone who misses Odesa finally return home. May the Lord protect every child, every family, and every Defender. May He strengthen our warriors in their holy cause, and let us pay due respect to those who have made it possible for us to welcome a new day here in our Odesa. We can learn. Live. Dream. Achieve success. This comes at the highest cost. Thousands of lives. Thousands of voices, smiles, and eyes that we must remember. We are starting anew. And this is already immense happiness,” – stated Olena Buinevych, the director of the Education and Science Department of the Odesa City Council.
