Details: The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that a meeting will take place in Ankara on April 15-16 to discuss Black Sea security issues following a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
The meeting will be held at the naval forces headquarters, with military representatives from various foreign nations expected to attend. The agenda will focus on naval planning to ensure a peaceful environment in the Black Sea.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense did not specify which countries will participate, but confirmed that Russian officials will not be among them.
Earlier, Turkish media reported, based on sources in the Ministry of Defense, that a security meeting in Ankara would include representatives from both Ukraine and Russia.
Background:
Following negotiations in Saudi Arabia on March 23-25, the USA, Russia, and Ukraine agreed to discuss securing navigation in the Black Sea.
However, shortly after, Russia presented a list of demands, including the easing of several sanctions against the agricultural sector. The USA stated they would consider these demands, while Europe dismissed the idea of easing sanctions.
