Changes to Visa-Free Stay for Ukrainians in Georgia

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has introduced amendments to the government decree that alters the visa-free stay duration for Ukrainians.

Details: On April 3, it became known that the visa-free stay for Ukrainian citizens in Georgia has been shortened from three years to one year.

"Ukrainian citizens have the right to enter Georgia without a visa and stay in the country for one full year," the document states.

For Ukrainians who entered and stayed in Georgia before February 24, 2025, the stay will be extended until February 24, 2026.

Background: In February 2023, the Georgian authorities allowed Ukrainians to stay in the country without a visa for two years. In April 2024, the duration was extended to three years.
