Amendments to Legislation on Anti-Corruption Agencies

The law of Ukraine «On the Reform of the Anti-Corruption System» has come into effect.

This was reported by the official publication of the Verkhovna Rada «Voice of Ukraine».

The Verkhovna Rada has approved, both in principle and in full, the draft law initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky aimed at restoring the independence of NABU and SAP.

On the same day, the president signed the corresponding law.

The latest edition of the Criminal Procedure Code, adopted by parliament on July 22, contained risks for the effective functioning of the anti-corruption infrastructure in Ukraine, particularly concerning the independence of NABU and SAP.

Following the discussion on the legislation concerning the powers of NABU and SAP, decision-making procedures within the «Servant of the People» party faction will be improved, and a working group is already in action.
