Mental Health Support Event at the University
The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynskyi hosted an event titled "Mental Health Support: Symbols of Unity." This initiative was part of the nationwide program "How are you?" launched by Olena Zelenska.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to create a platform for experience sharing.
More than 40 participants attended in person and over 100 online, including students, psychologists, educators, and activists.
The event opened with speeches from Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Dmytro Radulov, University Rector Andrii Krasnozhon, and program coordinator Anna Velychko, highlighting the need for collective efforts in the mental health sphere and the crucial role of youth in enhancing societal psychological resilience.
The program featured a quiz, interactive activities, and practical tools for improving mental well-being.
The event was moderated by Andrii Bortov, who presented relevant statistics on mental health service inquiries.
At the conclusion of the event, participants engaged in a gratitude practice, creating a symbolic "Tree of Gratitude" with personal wishes and supportive words.
This event confirmed the growing interest in mental health issues and the necessity for ongoing initiatives in the region.
The coordination of the nationwide mental health program "How are you?" is managed by the Coordination Center of the Cabinet of Ministers with the expert support of the World Health Organization.
