Support for People with Disabilities in Ukraine

20 March 2025

Due to the armed conflict, the number of people with disabilities in Ukraine is increasing, especially those with severe functional impairments (multiple limb amputations, spinal and traumatic brain injuries).

To restore their functioning and achieve effective rehabilitation, these individuals require specialized aids.

The government guarantees the provision of high-quality modern prosthetics and other rehabilitation aids that enable individuals to regain lost functions and adapt to new circumstances.

All relevant information about the state prosthetics program is available on the online platform protez.msp.gov.ua, launched by the Ministry of Social Policy and the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities.

Under this program, individuals can receive prosthetics or other rehabilitation aids for free, along with services for repair and maintenance. Support is provided at all stages—from application submission to receiving the product.

Free provision of rehabilitation aids for people with disabilities is carried out through the Fund for Social Protection. The Ministry of Social Policy continuously improves the program to make the process as simple and accessible as possible.
