Collaboration to Enhance Gender Policy in Odessa

The Deputy Mayor of Odessa, Pavlo Vugelman, held a significant meeting with the head of the «UN Women» Office in Ukraine, Sabina Nicole Fraser.

Also present were the Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy, Olena Kytainska, and the Mayor's advisor on gender issues, Liliia Leonidova.

The main topic of discussion was the implementation of gender policy at the local level.

The parties also reviewed the status of projects aimed at assisting victims of domestic and gender-based violence.

Meeting participants analyzed the city's efforts in combating violence, including the establishment of specialized support services such as day centers and mobile social-psychological assistance teams.

Furthermore, representatives from the «UN Women» Office conducted monitoring of women's rights and vulnerable population groups in Odessa.

Based on the report, the city will receive technical and methodological support in the fight against gender-based violence.
