Recognition of the Courage of DTEK Odessa Power Network Employees
The team from DTEK Odessa Power Networks has been recognized for their dedication while repairing power lines in Kherson. The energy workers successfully restored electricity for thousands of families affected by shelling in February. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine presented awards that affirm the professionalism of specialists who worked in dangerous conditions.
The award ceremony was held with the participation of Ministry representatives. Specialists who participated in restoring the energy infrastructure received well-deserved awards for their bravery.
An emergency situation arose in early February due to shelling that damaged energy equipment. Odessa energy workers responded swiftly and worked under challenging conditions to restore power supply.
“We could not stand aside when called for help. It was hard and dangerous work, but we knew we were doing it for the people,” said Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO of DTEK Odessa Power Networks.
Thanks to their joint efforts, electricity and water supply were restored to residents after prolonged outages. This mission demonstrated the high level of professionalism among Ukrainian energy workers.

Meanwhile, Odessa region is at risk of electricity shortages during the summer, said Oleg Popenko, head of the Utility Consumers Association. Other regions at risk include Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Poltava.
