Foreign Vessel Detained for Agricultural Smuggling

As a result of a joint operation by the Security Service and the State Border Guard Service in the Black Sea, a foreign vessel was detained for illegally transporting Ukrainian agricultural products to third countries, stolen from occupied territories.

This was reported by the SBU.

The vessel is named Anka.

The investigation revealed that the detained vessel was part of a "shadow" fleet of Russia, used for transporting stolen Ukrainian grain to third countries. In late 2024, the freighter exported 5,000 tons of wheat from the port of Sevastopol, which had been stolen from temporarily occupied territories.

According to the State Border Guard Service, the vessel used the flag of one of the Asian countries to disguise the origin of the cargo.

During the search on board, navigation equipment, ship documentation, and other physical evidence confirming the participation of the vessel and crew in the illegal transport scheme were seized.

The vessel has been arrested, and the crew detained. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
