Gas Explosion in Odesa: Casualties and Rescue Efforts

This afternoon in Odesa, on Marselska Street in the Peresyp district, a gas explosion occurred in a stove, igniting a fire in an apartment on the first floor of a nine-story building.

Rescue teams responded swiftly and extinguished the fire, preventing its spread to neighboring apartments.

Unfortunately, the apartment's owner, born in 1981, suffered burns covering 35% of his body and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the burn center. Additionally, a worker from a nearby salon (born in 1987) sustained minor cuts from shattered glass.

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service were present at the scene to provide psychological assistance to local residents.

A total of 9 units of equipment and 33 firefighters were involved in the operation.
