Restoration of Historical Doors in Odesa

«Historical Doors of Odesa» completed the restoration of the entrance doors of the building located at the intersection of Ukrainian Heroes Avenue and Jewish Street.

The building at Jewish Street, 48, was constructed in 1893 according to the design of architect A. D. Todorov and reconstructed in 1900–1901 by architects Y. M. Dmytrenko and V. A. Koropovskyi for the needs of the Protection Church. It housed the apartments of the church priest and a church-parochial school.

The doors of the building were in terrible condition.

Thus, «Historical Doors of Odesa» recreated the missing wooden decorative elements, restored the wrought iron grilles, and recreated the lost vestibule strip. They returned the symmetry and proportions of the doors, as well as the authentic bolts and handles. To protect the lower part of the doors, brass plates were installed to shield the wood from moisture and mechanical damage.
