The Rise of Dangerous Trends Among Children in Social Media
A new alarming trend has emerged among children in social media – the game "Red Doors, Yellow Doors". This pastime poses serious risks to the physical and mental well-being of children.
Experts from the National Social Service of Ukraine warn that during this game, children attempt to induce a trance-like state in each other. They employ relaxation and visualization techniques that can lead to anxiety and disorientation.
Such games may cause physical issues, including headaches and spasms, and can also increase intracranial pressure, potentially leading to a stroke in severe cases.
Moreover, these activities can result in nightmares and distortions in reality perception.
Among the social and behavioral risks for children are:
- isolation;
- irritability;
- nervousness;
- engaging in risky or criminal acts.
The National Social Service urges parents to be vigilant, as the aggressor country may exploit such games for recruiting children into criminal activities.
What can parents do if their children are involved in dangerous games?
Parents are advised to foster open relationships with their children to identify dangerous trends early. Initially, calmly discuss the game with your child, ask about their interests, and listen without judgment.
Then, it is crucial to explain the potential risks associated with these games, highlighting their impact on mental health and possible criminal involvement.
Pay close attention to your child's emotional behavior. If they become withdrawn or anxious, it is advisable to consult a psychologist.
This year, a dangerous challenge involving children making firecrackers circulated on social media, leading to injuries among kids in Lviv.
