Prince Harry's Visit to Ukraine: Supporting Wounded Soldiers

11 April 2025

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, made an unexpected visit to Ukraine, touring the Superhumans Center, a specialized orthopedic clinic for wounded soldiers.

This information was shared by Andriy Stavnitser on his Facebook page.

Harry served in the British Army for ten years and was deployed to Afghanistan twice, losing several close friends in combat. Leveraging his celebrity status, he has been a strong advocate for veterans worldwide. In 2014, he established The Invictus Games Foundation in the UK to host international sports competitions for injured servicemen.

This visit is a continuation of the Duke’s long-term efforts to support veterans, as confirmed by Andriy Stavnitser, founder of the Superhumans Center.

During his visit, the prince met with athletes who participated in the winter games and offered them his compliments.

He also met Eddie, a British volunteer recovering in Ukraine, and 10-year-old Roman Oleksiyiv, one of the youngest competitors. Harry toured the operating room where a complex surgery was being performed to restore hearing for a veteran.

"This is my first visit to Ukraine, but certainly not my last. It is a huge honor for me to be here with the Invictus delegation, alongside some of our athletes and participants from the UK over the last decade. Witnessing the incredible rehabilitation being provided here under one roof is truly impressive," said Prince Harry.

He became the second royal family member to visit Ukraine after Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, who visited Kyiv last year.

Expressing deep respect for his dedication, Stavnitser remarked, "It’s hard to add anything more about someone who could pursue any career but chose to dedicate himself to supporting and uplifting injured veterans. His visit will leave a lasting mark in Lviv for decades to come."
