Ukrenergo Denies Rumors of Power Outages

08 April 2025

The company "Ukrenergo" has denied rumors regarding a possible return of power outages.

This information was released by the company's press service.

"Recently, some media outlets and Telegram channels have started spreading false news about the potential return of outages. We emphasize that this information is inaccurate. No restrictions are currently in place," the statement reads.

However, company representatives noted that there is a real need for rational electricity consumption as repair work on energy facilities continues following Russian attacks. Additionally, due to the drop in temperatures across Ukraine, electricity consumption has significantly increased, as many consumers are turning on fireplaces, heaters, and air conditioners.

Furthermore, due to the end of the heating season, some generation facilities that cannot operate independently without thermal energy have ceased operations since last week.

The situation is further complicated by cloudy weather in parts of Ukraine, which reduces the efficiency of solar power plants.

To alleviate the load on the electrical grid, "Ukrenergo" urges consumers to limit the use of high-power appliances and avoid turning on multiple such devices simultaneously from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

As a reminder, in Ukraine, due to a significant drop in temperature on the morning of April 7, electricity consumption exceeded the previous working day level by 16%.

On April 8, electricity consumption remained high. As of 9:30 AM, the electricity consumption level was 2.3% higher than at the same time the previous day.
