New Pilot Boat Launched in Ukraine
The press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has announced a significant development.
The new high-speed boat is designed to reduce costs for the «Delta-Pilot» branch by lowering fuel consumption and addressing delays in the timely delivery of maritime pilots to vessels.
According to the head of the USPA, Oleksandr Semyrha, «The launch of this new pilot boat is a crucial step in strengthening our fleet and ensuring the effective operation of our ports».
The boat is named after Serhiy Cheberyakov, an experienced pilot who dedicated over 18 years to maritime affairs and trained numerous specialists. Tragically, Serhiy lost his life in 2023 while attempting to escape from occupied territories.
In December 2024, the pilot boat «Bolotyn» began operations on the Danube, built with the support of the USAID program, while the construction of a third boat continues in Izmir, Turkey.
