Honoring Ukrainian Volunteers Day
On March 14, Ukraine honors its volunteers – individuals who, despite not being military personnel, took up arms voluntarily during a critical moment to defend their country.
This date was chosen for a reason. It marks the day in 2014 when the first volunteers left the Maidan to train at the base in Novyi Petrivtsi, preparing to fight for Ukraine's territorial integrity.
Today, our nation faces its most significant test in modern history – an armed struggle against the Russian aggressor for independence and territorial integrity. And, as always in the toughest times, brave warriors of goodwill rise to defend their homeland, symbolizing courage, sacrifice, and heroism.
In honor of Ukrainian Volunteer Day, a wreath-laying ceremony took place in Odesa at the Memorial to Fighters for Ukraine in the Glory and Freedom Park.
Throughout March, educational institutions and libraries will host various cultural and educational events related to this theme.
