Efficient Operations of Municipal Services in Odesa

10 March 2025

Every day, around 1200 municipal service workers are dedicated to improving urban areas. They employ both manual labor and specialized equipment to wash and clean streets, ensuring the proper technical and sanitary condition of city communications while caring for green spaces.

In addition to daily cleaning tasks, municipal workers are also responsible for the maintenance and repair of stormwater drainage systems and significant hydraulic structures, including buffer ponds and channels like the Romanian and Kuyalnytsky canals.

Starting in spring when the weather becomes favorable, and continuing through autumn, municipal workers clean monuments that are not part of cultural heritage. They repair and paint these structures as needed.

As the fountain season approaches, specialists carry out the decommissioning of equipment and its installation.

Landscapers are busy pruning roses, shrubs, and trees, seeding lawns, and tidying up flowerbeds.

Odesa's cemeteries are kept in proper sanitary condition, with municipal workers clearing away last year's leaves, overgrowth, and garbage.

Additionally, daily cleaning of adjacent territories is carried out. Municipal service employees eliminate illegal dumps, tidy up neglected areas, and maintain public spaces.
