Spring Preparations in Odessa: Fountains and Maintenance
The municipal services of Odessa have begun preparations for the spring season. Specialists from the Municipal Enterprise «Service Center» are getting fountain equipment ready for their operation in the new 2025 season. Traditionally, the first fountain to be launched will be at Theater Square on April 1.
Currently, the specialists are preparing the fountains located at Theater Square, in the Victory Park (the «Mermaid» fountain), in the Cosmonauts Square, at Sobornaya Square, and the fountain at the corner of Ak. Zabolotny Street and Crimean Boulevard (the largest fountain in Odessa).
The reopening of the fountains is carried out in stages, and usually by the end of April, all Odessa fountains delight residents and guests with their beauty. However, under current circumstances, unfortunately, not all fountains can be turned on.
To preserve the fountain equipment in working condition during winter, functional elements such as nozzles, motors, and pump equipment were dismantled and kept in specially designated areas at the enterprise.
In addition, the employees perform daily cleaning and washing of the subordinate objects and territories.
Currently, ongoing repairs are being made to the water dispensing area and cleaning fallen leaves from the roof and clearing the drainage of the drinking water complex located on I. Rabin Street.
Specialists are also conducting current repairs of the pavement and taps in the water dispensing area of the drinking water complex located in the Starobazarny Square.
The employees of the «Service Center» maintain the drinking water facilities, monuments that are not architectural landmarks, ponds in Victory Park, protective structures of modular type, city fountains, and adjacent areas in proper sanitary and working condition throughout the year.
