Financial Assistance for Newborns in 2025
In 2025, families welcoming a new baby will once again be eligible for financial aid to cover the costs of the one-time natural assistance package known as the "baby bundle".
This financial compensation is a one-time payment for each newborn, intended for the purchase of baby products, including care items, diapers, clothing, food, toys, and other essential supplies like strollers and bathing tubs.
The compensation is provided to the parents of the newborn, or in their absence, to foster parents and guardians. Funds are transferred to a special bank account established with banks participating in the monetization of the baby bundle assistance program, as listed on the official website of the State Service for Children of Ukraine.
The amount of financial compensation is equivalent to three subsistence minimums for children under the age of six, according to the law in effect on the date of the child's birth. Starting January 1, 2025, this amount will be 7689 UAH.
Applicants can request the compensation:
- in person by submitting a paper application to the local social protection authority;
- via postal mail;
- electronically during the registration of the child's birth through the "eBaby" public service.
The compensation is granted if the application is submitted within 12 months of the child's birth.
Within a year of the funds being credited to the special account, the recipient can use the compensation to purchase baby products at participating stores. A list of these stores is available on the Ministry of Social Policy's official website.
Additionally, a natural assistance package called the "baby bundle" is available for parents and newborns, containing over 50 quality items. In 2025, the bundle will include in-demand products like reusable waterproof diapers and warm clothing. The size of the blanket has been increased, while the amount of the smallest clothing size has been reduced. Furthermore, the new baby bundle includes the book "From Birth to One Year," developed by UNICEF, providing practical advice for all parents of newborns.
