18 February 2025

Under the supervision of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, five residents of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district have been charged with sabotage, intentional damage to energy infrastructure, and property (Part 2 of Article 113, Part 2 of Article 194-1, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspects received orders from an employee of the Russian special services to carry out sabotage at the facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia and strategically important enterprises in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district for financial rewards.

For several months, they organized arson attacks on relay and battery cabinets, transformer substations, and buildings of local authorities.

The arsons were carried out at night using flammable substances, special equipment to open cabinets, and pre-prepared transport for quick movement between locations.

To confirm the completion of tasks to their supervisors, the suspects recorded their actions on video.

All five have been placed in custody without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the SBU in the Odesa region.
