Arrest of Man for Forging Documents for Illegal Exit Abroad

In Odessa, a man was arrested for allegedly assisting conscripts with forged documents for illegal exit for $15,000.

This was reported on February 13 by the Odessa police.

According to the investigation, a 37-year-old man promised his acquaintance a six-month deferment from military service due to health reasons, allowing him to leave the country.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Southern Region added that false data was to be entered into the "Reserve+" and "Oberih" systems. This service cost $15,000.

The Odessa resident was detained while receiving the money. Investigators confiscated the stated funds, a mobile phone, a car, and documents from him. He was charged under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to nine years in prison and a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property.

The court chose a preventive measure of detention for the suspect with the option to post bail of 908,400 hryvnias. As part of the proceedings, police will identify individuals who may have used the services of the arrested person.
