Training on Infrastructure Project Implementation in Odesa

Odesa hosted a training seminar organized by the UNDP team regarding the implementation of infrastructure projects under the Emergency Recovery Credit Program and the Recovery Program of Ukraine. 

During the two-day event, representatives from local governments across 15 communities in six regions were able to engage openly with the UNDP team, receiving advice and support on effective project implementation.

The Mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, welcomed the participants and expressed gratitude to the UNDP team for their ongoing collaboration and support for new initiatives.

"Our cooperation began in 2020. My primary requirement was for us to demonstrate our capacity and transparency. We started with 5 projects totaling over 276 million UAH, and now we have 12 projects worth more than 813 million UAH, which we aim to complete by the end of 2025," - shared Gennadiy Trukhanov.

In Odesa, these projects include educational and healthcare facilities.
Projects for the reconstruction of School No. 41 and the outpatient department of City Hospital No. 8 have been completed. Three more schools are currently in the final stages of reconstruction.

There are also plans for major repairs of two schools, a maternity hospital, and the infectious disease hospital.

The projects are being implemented on a co-financing basis, with community budgets contributing 20%.
