Restoration of the Odesa Building after Destruction
The Mayor of Odesa held an on-site meeting to assess the state of the restoration of a building, part of which was destroyed due to a Russian attack on March 2.
«Everyone who applied for the eRecovery program received compensation for repairs or a certificate for purchasing housing. The restoration work is ongoing but not as fast as we would like due to lengthy construction procedures. I am thankful to our partners, public and charitable organizations for their support,» said Gennady Trukhanov.
The Mayor expressed gratitude to the NGOs "Reach for the Sky", "Morning of Revival", "April 10th", and UNHCR for their continuous support and provision of building materials.
The restoration is being carried out by the management company "Clever" with the support and coordination of the Odesa City Mayor's advisor on humanitarian issues, Veronika Ethnarovich.
Currently, tons of debris have been removed from the apartments. The roof over the last entrance and the entrance itself from the first to the ninth floor has been repaired.
The area around the impact site has also been landscaped, where people continue to bring flowers. On March 2, 2024, as a result of the Russian attack, 12 people died, including five children.
