Extra Train Services for the Holidays
In celebration of the Christmas and New Year holidays, Ukrzaliznytsia has announced extra train services. For Odesa residents, several popular routes have been added to the schedule:
- №248/247 Kyiv – Odesa
- №265/266 Kyiv – Odesa
- №168/167 Odesa – Lviv
This means that people from Odesa will find it easier to plan trips to the capital or the western regions of Ukraine without the hassle of searching for tickets.
A total of 16 additional trains have been scheduled, including popular destinations to Lviv, Uzhhorod, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rakhiv, Truskavets, and Kovel. Special emphasis has been placed on the Carpathians, where families with children and military personnel typically go for rest and recovery.
Convenient connections in Lviv are also noteworthy. For instance, train №291 Kyiv – Lviv has a quick connection (only 35 minutes) with the Lviv – Chop service, which passes through Slavskoe, Volovec, Svalyava, and Mukachevo. Additionally, train №289 allows for a leisurely transfer to the modern diesel train Lviv – Vorokhta via Yaremche and Bukovel.
Moreover, high-speed services Kyiv – Lutsk and Kyiv – Kharkiv have been introduced, along with attached carriages from Dnipro to Lviv.
If tickets are sold out, the UZ app features an auto-purchase function. It automatically «catches» available seats and often assists in last-minute situations.
In January, some of these routes will also be covered by the «3000 km across Ukraine» program, as reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.
