Day of Radio Technical Troops: Honoring the Guardians of the Sky

30 November 2025

Every year on November 30, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Radio Technical Troops of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This holiday was established on September 16, 2010, by the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Mykhailo Yezhel, taking into account the significance of radio technical troops in the defense system and to enhance the prestige of military service.

The Radio Technical Troops are a key element in gathering information about the air situation, tasked with conducting radio technical reconnaissance and alerting forces.

As noted by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, thanks to the efforts of the Radio Technical Troops, Ukrainians receive timely warnings about aerial threats.

“Today, November 30, we celebrate the Day of Radio Technical Troops of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – a holiday for those who ensure early detection of air risks,” Syrskyi stated.

According to him, it is the radio technicians who provide citizens with timely information about air danger.

“Dear radio technicians! Your work may be unnoticed by many, but it is invaluable for those who make important decisions,” Syrskyi emphasized.

He also noted that in the early hours of the Russian invasion, the radio technical troops managed to preserve the command system and provide necessary information to the Air Force. Thanks to their efforts, the air defense forces and the Ukrainian aviation successfully accomplished their tasks.

“I congratulate all radio technicians on their professional holiday. I wish you health, reliable equipment, and peaceful skies. Thank you for your tireless work for the benefit of the Ukrainian people. We remember our heroes who fell victim to the bloody Russian occupiers while on duty,” Syrskyi remarked.
