New Children's Protection Day in Ukraine

In Ukraine, November 20 marks a new Children's Protection Day, coinciding with World Children's Day.

This holiday was established by the Presidential decree of Ukraine №355/2025 dated May 30, 2025, and will be celebrated annually.

Previously, the Children's Protection Day was observed on June 1, according to the Presidential decree from May 30, 1998, which is no longer in effect.

The Ministry of Defense has stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything possible to protect children and ensure their future. 

«Today, Ukraine honors the memory of children whose lives were taken by Russian terrorists. The aggressor denied them the chance to grow up in a peaceful country, dream, and enjoy childhood. It is the duty of Ukraine and the entire civilized world to ensure accountability for those who committed these inhumane acts. Our military does everything possible every day to protect children and our future», - reads the official statement.
