Commemorating the Victims of Famine in Ukraine
On November 23, a memorial event was held in Odesa to honor the victims of the Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
This tragedy has left a profound mark on our history, causing unimaginable suffering and loss. During Soviet times, discussing this event was forbidden, and the memory of the victims was passed down orally through generations.
Today, we speak about it loudly so that the world knows about the millions of innocent lives lost due to the genocide perpetrated by the Soviet regime. This year, we again honor the victims of Stalin's genocide amid a full-scale war, which includes genocidal actions against Ukrainians by Russia.
Every year on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine commemorates the victims of the Famine of 1932–1933, as well as the mass famines of 1921–1923 and 1946–1947.
