Restoration of the "Heroes Memorial" channel on YouTube

The video hosting platform YouTube has restored access to the memory channel “Heroes' Memorial,” which was previously blocked due to numerous complaints from Russia. This was reported by the Institute of Mass Information, referencing Gayane Avakyan, the co-founder of the platform.
Avakyan expressed gratitude to everyone who actively participated and spread the news about the blockage.
She noted that the team reached out to governmental bodies and organizations that also voiced objections to the blocking.
“Tatiana Lukinyuk, the general manager of Google Ukraine, responded to our request, which facilitated the unblocking. We hope such incidents will not happen again,” she emphasized.
The channel “Heroes' Memorial” contains 18 documentary films, including those about fallen heroes and the missile attack by Russia on Dnipro, which resulted in the deaths of 52 civilians in the building “Victory, 118,” as well as nearly 100 videos commemorating the lives and memories of fallen soldiers.
The Russian government has granted Roskomnadzor the authority to block any websites and disconnect the Russian segment of the internet from the global network starting March 1, 2026, in cases of "spreading prohibited content."
