09 November 2025

On the evening of November 8, residents of the Peresyp district in Odesa faced a distressing situation when the roof of a private house caught fire on Poshova Street. Thanks to the efforts of firefighters, the blaze was extinguished over an area of 90 square meters, although the excessive clutter in the yard complicated the operation.

According to the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Odesa region, the fire occurred in the evening on Poshova Street, engulfing the roof of the residential building and posing a threat to nearby structures.

"The fire suppression was complicated by the clutter on the premises, which hindered the work of firefighters, but fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported," said the State Emergency Service.

Rescue units arrived swiftly at the scene: 6 vehicles and 23 firefighters from the State Emergency Service, along with 1 vehicle and 4 personnel from the Association of Volunteer Firefighters. Currently, specialists are investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the damage, considering various theories including possible violations of fire safety regulations and electrical malfunctions.
