Firefighters' Seminar in Tulcea: A Step Towards Collaboration

07 November 2025

Representatives from the Odesa rescue service visited Tulcea in Romania for a working seminar. They participated in the first seminar under the joint Ukrainian-Romanian project “Development of Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Prevention Along the Danube – FIPRO” (ROUA00095), implemented by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa region in collaboration with the ‘Delta’ Emergency Situations Inspectorate of Tulcea County, under the Interreg NEXT program ‘Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027’.
During the meeting, firefighters from both countries discussed strategies for more effective responses to wildfires and ecosystems fires. Specialists exchanged experiences, analyzed legislative measures, and worked on creating a joint manual of best practices.
Additionally, the head of Odesa firefighters, Denis Platonov, got acquainted with the technical resources of the Romanian colleagues from the ‘Delta’ Emergency Situations Inspectorate of Tulcea County.
Such meetings aid firefighters in exchanging experiences, learning from one another, and enhancing safety levels on both sides of the Danube.
