Celebration of Bulgarian Culture in Odesa

The culmination of the Bulgarian Culture Week in Odesa was a grand concert. November 1st, known as the Day of National Awakeners, is a celebration that honors the spirituality of all Bulgarians, regardless of where they reside.

The Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria addressed the audience with a welcoming speech and presented Gratitude Certificates for significant contributions to the development of Bulgarian culture.

«During this festival, we had the chance to engage with the rich heritage of the Bulgarian people — music, literature, and folk art. These events vividly demonstrate how intertwined our cultural bonds are and how our histories and traditions resonate with each other. Bulgaria has made a significant contribution to the development of Odesa, and the Bulgarian community remains an integral part of our society,» emphasized acting Mayor of Odesa Ihor Koval.

Performing at the concert was the renowned folk singer and composer from the Macedonian folklore region, Iliya Lukov — a legend of Bulgarian folk music, known for his numerous initiatives supporting Bulgarian identity both in Bulgaria and abroad.

Additionally, folk ensembles from the Odesa region graced the stage, sharing warmth, sincerity, and the richness of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cultural connections with the audience.
