New Measures to Combat Dumping near Khadjibey Estuary
New «No Parking» signs will be installed along the bypass road near the Khadjibey Estuary.
This decision was made to stop the emergence of illegal dumps in the protected area, reports the environmental inspection.
State inspectors have repeatedly recorded instances of littering along the bypass road by the Khadjibey Estuary. Due to frequent short stops by drivers of both heavy and light vehicles, this area has gradually turned into a dump.
The inspection has repeatedly appealed to the Odesa City Council to restore proper sanitary conditions and prevent further pollution of the protected zone.
As a temporary measure, the Peresyp District Administration proposed to install no-parking signs 3.34. The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service of Odesa region has already issued the relevant order, and new signs will appear on-site soon.
However, ecologists emphasize that as long as the level of ecological awareness among some citizens remains low, such administrative measures will be the only effective way to prevent the emergence of new dumps near the estuary.
