Odesa Port at International Exhibition: Challenges and Opportunities
The management of the Odesa branch of the State Enterprise «Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine» participated in the International Maritime Exhibition BALTEXPO 2025 held in Gdansk (Poland).
During the event, a round table was held where Dmytro Nazarenko, head of the Odesa branch, discussed the activities of Ukrainian ports under wartime conditions.
He reported that since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, over 500 port infrastructure facilities have been damaged or destroyed, 116 civilian vessels were affected, and 157 civilians were injured; specifically, 161 facilities were damaged at Odesa Sea Port.
Particular attention was given to the Ukrainian Corridor, through which, since August 2023, the ports of Greater Odesa have handled over 146.5 million tons of cargo and processed 5596 vessels, including 1528 in Odesa port.
Despite all challenges, Ukrainian sea ports remain an integral part of the country's economic stability. Their security is crucial not only for logistics but also for the survival of Ukraine's export model, emphasized Nazarenko.
Infrastructure projects of Odesa port and plans for their further implementation were also presented during the event. Nazarenko invited international investors for collaboration.
