Arrest of a Drug Dealer in the Odesa Region

Officers from the Odesa District Police Department No. 2 discovered that a 41-year-old resident of the Usatove community was engaged in illegal activities. At the end of January this year, law enforcement documented the fact that the man was selling amphetamines, the circulation of which is restricted. The perpetrator was apprehended while selling a package containing «goods» on the street near his home. Investigators seized the psychotropic substance and conducted an express test.

As material evidence, police also confiscated money obtained from the «goods» from the offender, and during a sanctioned search of his residence, they found another package with an unknown substance, equipment for packaging psychotropics, and other items of interest to the investigation. All seized substances have been sent for examination.

According to Senior Investigator Olena Ditsul, the suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was informed of the suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and illegal sale of psychotropic substances. Under the sanction of Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the man faces a sentence of up to eight years in prison. During the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to bail. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Biliaivka District Prosecutor's Office. Individuals involved in drug trafficking are being identified.
