Commemorating the Victims of Babyn Yar

29 September 2025

Today, Ukraine remembers the victims of the tragedy at Babyn Yar. This site has become a symbol of deep sorrow and cruelty, as Nazis executed thousands of people — Jews, Ukrainians, and Roma.

The tragedy of Babyn Yar is not just a historical chapter but a reminder of the horrific cost of hatred and intolerance. As we honor the memory of those lost, we say 'never again' and reaffirm our collective promise: such horrors must not repeat.

Odesa, along with the entire nation, pays tribute to the innocent lives taken.

In connection with the anniversary, a ceremony was held in Prokhorovskyi Square in Odesa, where flowers were laid at the monument to the Holocaust victims and ghetto prisoners.

May the memory of all who perished at Babyn Yar be eternal.
